Fort Sill & Fort Sill Graduations

Planning a visit to Fort Sill—especially for Basic Combat Training graduation—starts with installation access. Visitors who do not already have approved Department of Defense identification should arrange their Fort Sill visitor pass before arriving.

Get Your Fort Sill Visitor Pass

Fort Sill’s visitor guidance says adults without a Department of Defense (DoD)-approved identification card need a visitor pass and background check. Visitors can pre-register online, should request passes at least 24 hours before arrival, and may apply up to 30 days in advance. Visitors must bring REAL ID-compliant identification or the additional identification required by Fort Sill.

Fort Sill Graduation Visitor’s Guide

Typical Fort Sill Basic Combat Training (BCT) graduation week is a two-day family event. Families should confirm the exact date, time, gate and location with their Soldier’s unit because graduation schedules are subject to change.

Family Day

Family Day is usually held the day before graduation. Families typically pick up their Soldier in the morning and may spend the day on or off post before returning the Soldier that evening.

The guide notes that Soldiers remain subject to unit rules during Family Day, including restrictions involving alcohol, tobacco, drugs, electronics, tattoos and piercings, casinos, and driving.

Graduation Day

Graduation is typically held the following morning, with brief family time afterward in a designated area. The exact ceremony time and location can vary by battalion and battery, so use your Soldier’s unit information as the final authority.
